Call an interpreter by phone

Dial our toll-free line from any phone, enter your Account ID and Passcode, and connect — no computer needed.

No computer handy? You can reach an interpreter from any phone by calling our toll-free line. You’ll need two things, both shown on your dashboard and in Settings → Passcode: your Account ID and your 4-digit Passcode.

Dial the toll-free number

1-888-989-1022

Call 1-888-989-1022 from any phone. (If your organization has its own dedicated toll-free number, dial that instead — it works the same way.) When prompted, enter your Account ID followed by your Passcode.

Where do I find these?
Your Account ID and Passcode are shown on the right side of your dashboard under OPI Toll-Free IVR Line, and in Settings → Passcode. The passcode is 4 digits and you can change it anytime.

Choose your language

The menu

After your details are accepted, the menu offers:

  1. Press 1 — connect to Spanish instantly.
  2. Press 2 — enter your language code followed by # for any other language.
  3. Press 3 — hear your account balance.
  4. Press 0 — reach a customer care representative.

Find your language code

For Press 2

Each language has a short numeric IVR code. At the menu, press 2, enter the 3-digit code, then #. For example, Spanish is 035, French is 012, and Mandarin Chinese is 164.

You can always look yours up live on your dashboard — open the OPI Toll-Free IVR Line panel and expand Find your language IVR code to search by name or code. The full list is below for reference:

Connect to your interpreter

Under 30 seconds

We place you with a qualified interpreter — usually in under 30 seconds. Summarize what you’d like to accomplish and share any special instructions, then continue your conversation.

  • The phone line uses the same balance and rates as browser calls — and calls placed this way show an IVR badge in your Call History.
  • Your Passcode isn’t globally unique — it only works alongside your Account ID, so keep both private.
  • Press 3 anytime at the menu to check your balance without placing a call.
